Ruskin Brown Leather Jacket | Finer Details
Origins
The Ruskin takes after the traditional 4-pocket field jackets worn by soldiers and adventurers since the early 1900s. Distinguished by its chevron pockets, the jacket traces back to the infantry uniforms of the British Indian Army as well as the American Expeditionary Forces— while lightweight poplin and khaki versions were remade as safari jackets.
Popular even today, the field jacket remains a timeless classic in masculinity and utility.
Details
Updated for modern life, the Ruskin pares down the field jacket to its essentials. Epaulets are removed for a clean shoulder line to increase the jacket's versatility. A tapered cut at the waist replaces the traditional waistbelt and belt loops. Hidden handwarmer pockets, bellow pockets and a storm flap all add to the jacket's utility.
Rugged but formal, the Ruskin is intended to suit a wide range of occasions and celebrations.
